LUNA smart water dispenser

Your flask has one temperature. Your family needs three.

One machine instead of three, in 180mm of counter. Hot for tea, warm for formula milk and cold for after the void deck, all without the chlorine taste.

The LUNA smart water dispenser: a matte black column with a tilted, lit control panel, a cyan glow at the spout and a ribbed drip tray, seen from a three-quarter angle

Why it earns the counter space

Six times a day you'd notice.

Nobody admires a water dispenser. You just stop working around one.

  1. 3:00am

    Formula milk, first time

Warm has its own button, set at about 40°. Nobody guesses at the sink.

A mother testing warm formula on her wrist at night
  2. 6:45am

    Kopi, and the bottles

150 ML in ten seconds, up to 95°. Both bottles and a kopi before the bus.

A father's hands with two school water bottles and a cup of kopi before dawn
  3. 10:00am

    Ah Ma's tea

Its own setting at about 60°, gentler than a rolling boil. The flask stays in the cupboard.

A grandmother's hands around a cup of tea at the kitchen table
  4. 3:30pm

    They help themselves

Pictures, not symbols, on a panel tilted to a child's eye. Hot sits behind the red lock.

A boy in school uniform holding up an empty cup in the afternoon sun
  5. 7:00pm

Straight in from the void deck

Cold on tap at about 6°, so the fridge door stays free.

A girl home from football holding a cold glass of water
  6. 11:30pm

    The last glass

A soft night light to find it by. Then it sleeps until someone touches it.

A single glass of water on the kitchen counter at midnight

On the counter

A four-room kitchen counter is already holding a rice cooker, an air fryer and the dish rack. This one needs 180mm of it.

The LUNA standing on a kitchen counter between a white rice cooker and a black air fryer, with a dish rack at the end: the narrowest thing on the counter

It's 425mm deep and 380mm tall, matte black, and quiet enough to sit in an open kitchen. You'll look at it every day for years, so it's fair to be fussy about it.

The panel

You can tell who this was designed for by looking at the buttons.

The LUNA control panel, lit: a red padlock for the child lock, UV and filter indicators, a temperature and volume readout, and buttons for Hot, Tea, Warm and Cold with a water-drop dispense button in the centre

Tap an icon on the panel

  1. The child lock is red.

You can see whether it's on from the other side of the kitchen. That's the entire reason it's red and not grey. One touch releases it.

  2. The UV light tells you it's working.

It runs inside the water path, on its own, and this is where it says so. Nothing to switch on and nothing that changes the taste.

  3. The filter has a gauge.

It shows the life left as a percentage, so nobody has to remember a date or keep a receipt.

  4. Degrees on the left, millilitres on the right.

It tells you the temperature before you pour instead of after, and it counts the water on the way out. The step is one degree.

  5. Hot, at the top of the range.

About 95°, which is the hottest the machine goes. The kettle stops being something anyone stands and waits for.

  6. Tea gets its own button.

About 60°: hot enough to brew, well short of the rolling boil that scalds the leaves. Nobody has to stand over the kettle guessing.

  7. There's a baby bottle on the panel.

About 40°, the bottle temperature: formula, medicine, supplements. It isn't a compromise between hot and cold, and it's printed on the machine because somebody thought about 3am.

  8. Cold, on tap, down to about 6°.

So the barley doesn't have to live in a recycled bottle in the fridge door, and nobody's waiting for it to chill.

  9. Then one button.

Pick a temperature, press the drop. That's the whole operation, one-handed, which matters when the other arm is holding something.

  10. You set the amount, not the machine.

Any volume from 10ml up, in 10ml steps. About 150ml lands in ten seconds, which is two school bottles before the bus comes.

Inside

Four stages, two at a time,
and one part you can't see.

01 · The cartridge

Two cartridges run at a time.

One takes out rust, sand and the chlorine taste. The other either refines it further or puts the minerals back. You pick which.

02 · The coil

This is where the cold comes from.

Thermoelectric: it chills on demand and holds about 6°, with no compressor running all day. Heating works the same way, only when asked.

03 · The cold tank

150ml in about ten seconds.

Two school bottles before the bus comes, and no bottle living in the fridge door.

04 · The UV

You can't see this one.

It runs inside the water path, on its own, and the panel tells you when it's working. The one part you have to trust is the one we don't fake a picture of.

Still water being poured from a clear glass jug into a drinking glass

You can't taste a photograph.

Everything above is easy for us to write and hard for you to judge on a screen. Water either tastes better or it doesn't, and a machine either fits your kitchen or it doesn't.

What we filter for

PUB water is safe to drink from the tap, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we filter for is what happens between the plant and your glass: the chlorine used to keep it safe on the way, and whatever an older block's storage tank and risers add on the trip up.

How it runs

Four stages of filtration running two cartridges at a time, so it fits in the cabinet instead of needing one of its own. UV runs inside the water path continuously, in the background, without changing the taste.

No showroom to drive to

So we bring the mobile showroom to you.

Message us and tell us your area. We come back with a time we can keep, the van parks downstairs, and we set the LUNA up on your own counter. You taste the water and see how much room it takes.

And nobody in your living room for an hour. If you move later it comes with you; there's a small charge to re-plumb it in the new place.

Where we came from

We started as plumbers.

Acqua Vida started with a simple idea: water at home should be easy. It began as a plumbing service, and years of working in people's homes taught us what matters day to day.

Today we design water systems for real homes, simple to use and built to be lived with. The plumbing came first, and it's still why we'd rather open up your cabinet ourselves than send a stranger.

Acqua Vida also makes a Vitamin C shower filter and an air purifier for the home.

Taste it in your own kitchen before you decide anything.
